I'm having the exact same issue on my laptop. Edge plays videos on youtube better (especially 4k videos) than Chrome, but on Chrome the sound crackling/popping/distortion doesn't happen. A lot of friends have the same issue on their pcs and laptops but they haven't noticed it. I've heard that Chrome had the same issue in the past with html5 videos, but it was fixed very fast.I'm sick of all those sound problems that windows 10 has.

I've tried everything, from latency checks, to updating audio controllers and drivers to the latest version, to using the reccomended driver versions from the manufacturer site, to scanning for corrupt windows files (with sfc /scannow), but nothing worked. That's why I use Chrome.
